John 4:5-42
People often have an easier time forgiving others than they do forgiving themselves.
This is the longest dialogue in the Bible between Jesus and any other person, and that person happens to be a Samaritan woman. By gender and nationality she was an outcast in her day, and yet Jesus not only converses with her, he listens to her and treats her with respect. Do we do the same? Does the church? Can we see across boundaries of nationality, gender, and custom to a new kingdom of God’s love?
